Bible Study
     
     Let's go through the topics of the last six weeks I received from Jesus:
-New Message
-New Guidance
-New Heart
-New Role
-New Test
-New Light

     After Jesus' disciples listened to His message to make a U-turn to go home experiencing true intimacy, they were under their master's guidance living out a new lifestyle that Jesus approved. They received a new heart so that they can take up their new role to follow Jesus to complete God's saving plan. To be ready for all these they needed to be put into a test so that they would not be pulled back by Satan to go back to darkness but be in the light. Then the calling to completely give up all they had to follow Jesus came.

     "You are going to catch people now!" was the only thing Jesus said to Peter and Andrew. And, they gave up their way of living and follow Jesus. So simple?Why? Does it means that they did not do their business well so they wanted to quit and that was the right moment? Did they see something Jesus did to make them believe following Jesus could give them more than what they were working as fishermen? You don't need to guess. Jesus has His tailor-made plan for each one of us. What is important is the result. The result after Jesus calling is their total obedience to follow Him.

     Is Jesus calling you now? What is the content of His calling? Are you going to obey? 
     
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

     The topic I received from Jesus today is : 
     New Calling : Catch more fish
     
     What I received from Jesus today is a calling for us to catch more fish for Him. We all have our own fish to catch. Like making more money, more workout to be healthy...more and more. But, today in this passage Jesus turned the name of their No.1 goal into one thing, and one thing only. Catch more people. 

     How long have you been a Christian? How many fish have you caught? You may be doing lots of things in your church for many years but never or rarely catch a fish. What I mean is to lead someone to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. That's Jesus main call, that's the Great Commission. We have no excuse!

     Why can't you catch more fish? What are those things blocking you that you cannot catch more fish for Jesus? Name those things and pray to the Lord for Him to remove those hindrance away. We need to break all those hindrance so that we can build a new lifestyle to catch more fish for Jesus. Right?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for calling us to catch more fish for you. Lead us to start a new way of living not to catch those fish we want but to catch more people for you extending your mighty Kingdom. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

1. Read Matthew 4: 18-22 again now. What is the most important word or message you got from this passage? Why it is so important to you?

2. What kind of fish are you catching recently, the thing you spend most time on? Your job? Money? Work-out to be more healthy? TV? Computer? 

3. What does Jesus invitation (in verse 19) to Peter and Andrew mean to you?


4. What does the response of Peter, Andrew, James and John mean to you(verse 20 and 22)? 

5. Do you have any new plan to catch more fish now? Can you put down at least one name(not more than two) and start to pray for that person until he or she can come to Emmanuel330?
